Lampang Community Packaging Programme
ระบบบรรจุภัณฑ์และฉลากสำหรับวิสาหกิจชุมชนลำปาง
A long-running body of packaging and label design for community enterprises across Lampang: chilli pastes, cured pork, rice powders, cold-pressed soaps, fruit preserves. Every product shipped with a production-ready asset kit, not a picture of a package.
The real constraint
Community enterprise packaging is rarely limited by ideas. It is limited by a local printer with two spot inks, a run of five hundred, a product whose recipe changes with the season, and no one on the team who can open an Illustrator file after the designer leaves.
Designing for that means the deliverable cannot be a beautiful visual. It has to be a production-ready asset kit: correct dielines, separated artwork, regulatory and nutrition panels already set, and files named so that the printer picks the right one without a phone call.
A shared system across twenty products
Because the same enterprises return with new products, the work is organised as a system rather than as one-offs: a shared label geometry, a repeatable way of placing the OTOP and certification marks, and dies reused across SKUs so a second product costs the enterprise a plate change rather than new tooling.
That reuse is what makes the programme transferable — a new producer joining the group inherits a working structure instead of starting from a blank page.
Where it goes next
The strongest of these are being routed through the ThaiStar → AsiaStar → WorldStar and DEmark pathways, where the packaging is assessed on production quality rather than presentation.
